I wonder how you get around the giant room, and how its space is demarcated. How do you meet up with someone else who is in a faraway part of the room?
They could divide the space with cubes/walkways using a BSP algorithm [1] and provide Roguelike movement between openspace areas (we'll call them "rooms")
I know. I was being a bit flippant on purpose. Having every body in one giant room doesn't mean there is no rhyme or reason to how things are laid out and labeled. Instead of moving between Building 1 & Building 4, you might go from Section 1 to Section 4. Only people that work there are going to need to know where Sections 1 & 4 are.
Facebook has Wayfinders that provide an interactive touch screen map all over campus. Type in a name and it shows you where they are, relative to where you are. Super handy.
