Kidding aside, I think that either you already know someone that fits the bill, or you might as well forge ahead with your plans at the same time you start networking a lot. It's sort of like "where do I find a wife?" - you can do things to get out there and meet people, but you can't just go get a good one from one day to the next.
lol, some good points. I think there is room for a community where people can get together to see if they can work together or not. None of my friends are really techy so there is no finding them there. no bloody meetups in this area of the uk...
I don't think an on-line thing will really work out. You've got to meet real people, basically. That might mean moving to a more startup-intensive area, if you're serious about it.
I have made some good friends meeting them online. I gamed for years and joined a clan and have become friends with these people in the real world. I think its doable.
