Does this imply that success without goals is impossible?


In that case, what would you measure success against?


Your peers. I always thought that had a huge effect on your happiness and perception of your status.


In this case your "set goal" is to match/surpass your peers.


I think it does, and it theory that might be wrong in practice I haven't seen anybody succeed without a clear goal.
