I get that he might have made something good decades ago, but why does that mean his advice is relevant now? The entire landscape is different now. Look at someone like Ed McMillen if you want to learn about current game design. I get the feeling that Garriott hasn't even PLAYED a video game in ages.

What he's done lately is launch a kickstarter for a new game, this is just marketing.

Or in less polite terms, bullshit hype from a man who needed to come back to Earth long long before he went into fucking space.
