Looking at his profile page[0], virtually every single post is a link to an external site. Very few replies or reposts or plain text posts. Compare that to his Twitter profile[1]. I could easily see this as being detected as a spam bot.

I disagree given this article.

Yeah, it’s a _really_ odd usage pattern. There are a couple of tweets not fitting this mold today, but before that it’s just a few random news articles a day, with largely useless (LLM generated?) attempts at summaries. I’d absolutely buy that it was flagged by some anti-spam ML; not knowing who he is, if I’d been shown this without context I’d have assumed it was some sort of engagement farming bot.

The guy wants so badly to have been canceled because his seemingly right wing politics, but honestly, I suspect someone reported him as being an imposter and it probably wasn't obvious to the moderation team that he wasn't.

It absolutely is. It’s not a left right thing. It’s a definitional thing. Making content harder to access is censorship.

Ranking content is commonplace, not every one of ten, a hundred, or a million comments per hour can be placed on a pedestal as #1.

Not tagging some posts as spam leads to spam flooded sites, marking probable spam and making it less visibile (ala HN for example) doesn't remove content but does reduce the impact garbage spam has and makes other content more visible.

In the context of this specific thread the article author's complaint is that their content was flagged, suspended, reviewed, and restored.

These are the edge cases of the ever present spam riddled nazi bar problem.

imagine writing a whole article in the vein of the "which opinions, motherfucker??" goose meme

All hug boxes are doomed to failure. This is just the latest iteration.
