Token Monarchs are usually quite good - partly because it's easy-if-grueling work, partly because they're so easy to fire.
But anyone who wishes for a non-token monarch needs to grow up and read some history. Pretty much every country in Europe is a former non-token-monarchy, and they got that way because those non-token monarchs were extremely bad rulers.
Is there anyone that is pro monarchy/authoritarianism that is also pro-monarchy authoritarianism if someone who doesn’t have the same values as them are in charge? Like is Peter Thiel pro monarchy if AOC is the monarch?
You don’t even have to go that hypothetical, it’s doubtful that these guys want to live under the reign of a Gulf prince or the Sultan of Brunei. Though maybe they’d be okay with MBS these days.
