I joined an oil and gas company and I had a few questions when I noticed “pigLauncher” in an enum.

For a while, learning German, I kept misreading "Scheinwerfer" (light thrower, headlight) as "Schweinwerfer" (pig-thrower).

As an image search for the latter term shows, that seems to be a common occurrence, or perhaps it's even deliberate.

The first google hit is from an Austrian site selling a Schweinwerfer; a Scheinwerfer designed for forestry... to look at wild pigs

Genius

If there's one thing Germans know, it's how to have a good time.

And for those who enjoy playing LEGO videogames... LEGO City Undercover has legit pig cannons [1].

Similar experience here - I was making changes to the internal phone directory program and seen an entry for the “Pig Launcher” on a platform. As someone new to oil and gas, I thought it was quick funny.

Sounds like they're trying to fight back against the Angry Birds
