I don't think they serve the same purpose. With Shift+Click, I can [usually!] just hold down Shift and click on an image on a webpage to open the original in a new tab without having to dive through the source code

It's really handy for those times when websites don't think to have a "Click for full size..." option on an image which is too small to see what's going on.
