The missing color gamut that you can see but most displays can’t render is mostly in the green. A super wide color gamut could replicate what you see when you get hit by a green laser pointer but can’t make that big of a difference for colors you might actually want to look at.
(E.g. Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 thinks that pure green is so offensive it always mixes in some red and blue which hurts image quality because of quantization errors and misalignments.)
