I don't understand why it was necessary for this technology demonstration to be put in a "work from home is dangerous" context

Maybe the sound quality could be improved by recording the flickering LED while a known sound is played and using that information to undo the introduced distortion? I imagine something that does not require inside help, like a default start-up, error or notification sound.
