Reverse causality would be an interesting conclusion. Essentially asserting that articulate people with good memories are less likely to find TV appealing and would prefer to read or do something more interactive instead.

There are probably a lot of reasons why people may watch a lot of TV, including depression or other forms of mental and emotional pain.
