i honestly like the fact these sites block access, for me its a sign they don't care about users privacy or are just too lazy to comply. I have several projects that need to comply with the GDPR, i did not feel it to be a big effort to comply.
I currently block sites with annoying pop ups or show failure to comply.
It would be interesting to know which keyservers accept unusually large files (in the megabytes range) and which just reject those updates - I expect if enough large payloads were uploaded that someone might eventually take notice.
i run a python/shell program to rsync and collect what i want backed up into one folder i then compress it and gpg encrypt it and send it to my backup server
I use R and ggplot2 for my visualizations (coincidentally those are also the tools used for the linked paper). Most of my visualizations are on my blog. (check HN profile)
