Thank you. Yes RSS is in my radar.

Thank you

Talk is a free, peer-to-peer, disposable group video calling app for the web.

Works in all major browsers.

No signups. No downloads. 100% peer-to-peer.

> 100% peer-to-peer.

Is this even possible with WebRTC? How do clients initially learn about each other's IP addresses and ports?

There seems to be some logic to facilitate that in the server code: https://github.com/vasanthv/talk/blob/master/server.js

I agree, this is super cool but it's not 100% peer to peer as WebRTC requires a central server to establish the connection as far as I know.

It does not require a central server, signaling is left as an implementation detail. Implement a p2p signaling system, and that will be p2p.

Is LAN P2P? If yes, WebRTC is 100% P2P over LAN is it not?

I still think the clients need a coordination server to discover each other (won't use multicast/broadcast traffic). You could probably make a browser that does this, but if they already do then I am not aware of it.

Signaling is up to the implementation. You can use carrier pigeons if you want. Would that qualify as p2p? :)

Pigeon-to-pigeon connection establishment, I like it :)

I've never considered using WebRTC without STUN or TURN, but apparently it's quite possible, enabling LAN-only usage: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30742431/webrtc-on-isola...

If it's disposable, how many uses can you get out of it before it is worn out and has to be replaced?

This is a nice game. May be we can press enter key to remove the work, instead of clicking on the word.

No, it is like Twitter & Instagram Stories had a baby.

Flash is my weekend project. It is a minimal news aggregator from different popular tech blogs & websites.

Hope it will be useful for you all tech blog readers.

Blarb is a way to share what is on your mind.

We have said NO to a few things that help to share unfiltered thoughts. - No history: Anything you share in Blarb gets deleted in 24 hours. - No real names: We don’t attach real names to your profile. - No likes: No more sharing for the sake of likes & followers.

So it’s pseudo 4chan with fewer and/or slightly different features.

Barebones Twitter with a cheaper data storage bill.

He should call it SnapChan.

Added this :)

Doesn't work for the first game yet.

Thank you

Thanks for the feedback, will look into it

Hello HN,

I created Hello (https://itshello.co) in 2018 and many people quickly started using it, but I have to sell it in 2019 as it was in autopilot mode and I didn't do any enhancement to it for a long time. I sold it, so that some else can pick it up and update it, but that did not happen, it's still in the same state as 2018.

Recently, there have been few enhancements in WebRTC and related APIs, but I couldn't update Hello now. So I created this separate app with those enhancements and stabilizations. I also added a stable screen sharing feature for supported devices.

Introducing "Talk - A free video call app for the web". https://talk.vasanthv.com

Though it does not get its own fancy domain name, it's stable, works 100% and supported by all the modern browsers in all the platforms (both desktop & mobile).

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Couldn't share my screen –– MacOS Catalina, Firefox 73.0.1

UPD: Updated Firefox to 74, still `Unable to share screen`

You need to add screen recording permission for firefox. Catalina privacy restrictions.
