Where is juggling shop a thing?

It was in the UK in 1993, about the time the web was starting to take off. As the other commenter says, there was a much wider variety of shops then.

I am not the person you're asking, but they were a thing in The Netherlands at least. Not super common, but they did exist. Typically they sold other related things too, like diabolos, flower sticks, etc. This was a while ago, before Amazon, when there were just a lot more different types of shops. I am not sure they still still exist.

what means "snip the ends of a balloon"? when I think of balloons they are pretty large spheres for juggling

If a balloon is made of a thin neck and a round body, you're chopping the neck off near the bottom of the neck. You're then left with a round rubber pouch for the contents (rice). Use two balloons in opposite directions so the closed end of the outer layer covers the opening of the inner layer.

Great for juggling balls - nice weight and very grippy.

I think the use of the word "ends" rather than "end" makes it sound like you're making 2 snips on each balloon.

yeah that confused me too

But this means it's a tiny balloon? Almost hand sized already?

Balloons are pretty small before you inflate them, and you're not inflating them, just stuffing them with rice.

I feel stupid, thank you got explaining!

Indeed. Do not blow up the balloon. Just use it as a rubber pouch. If anything is still unclear, describe as detailed as you can the difficulty you're visualizing.

The technique I've used to fill a balloon with rice:

- Take a small plastic drinks bottle.

- Cut the bottom half off to make it like a funnel.

- Remove the lid, and stretch a balloon over the neck.

- Invert the half bottle so the balloon over the bottle-neck is hanging underneath.

- When you tip some rice into the funnel, only a few grains will fall into the uninflated balloon.

- Now put your mouth/cheeks against the open end of the bottle/funnel and blow. This will partially inflate the balloon, and all the rice will fall in. Done!

that's valuable info.

wikipedia actually makes the game sounds interesting unlike a typical dating sim.

WARNING possible spoilers, don't read if you plan to play, but just know it's not just a dating sim.

> while it appears to be a light-hearted dating simulator, it is a metafictional psychological horror game that extensively breaks the fourth wall.

> Reviewers pointed out that the game's horror was built on the destruction of a sense of control over what happens in the game and the feeling of helplessness that stems from the distortions in the game's world

I played this game recently and you have to click through several screens telling you that it's disturbing to open and play it

It's worth the experience to play that game once.

And I guess it's not worth porting games for adults to walled gardens.

Note that i said games for adults, not adult content. If you're expecting porn, move along.

Nice! That sounds very interesting actually.

It's totally free, give it a try if you're interested! It's also been ported to a variety of platforms unofficially (Wii and 3DS ottomh)

> Honestly, if you live in tmux, this probably isn't for you but it's really helped to speed up my workflow.

Fresh honesty, nice.

Haha, I mean ever since launching this I’m learning of a zillion alternatives I should have probably tried earlier but for me the auto tiling is really the main thing and, as far as I can see, no other alternatives really do that for some reason? Maybe there’s a good reason but it suits my workflow anyway

And then in future if you try to build something to reverse the situation your coding llm becomes stupid and your psychologist llm recommends you some blue pills.

You haven't gone away from touristy track. A friend of mine did last year and the stuff I heard was pretty bad

touristy track is covered by cctvs and they are used to get people for anything including public urination or graffiti so of course it's clean

If by tourist track you mean several cities each with a population count greater than London then sure. :) But it is true I was there as a tourist to see a few places and China is an absolutely huge place.

I wish the touristy places in the UK were as clean though.

Also, writing this comment on a crowded, dirty and smelly train from Gatwick Airport, which has 2 carriages inaccessible because of broken doors and crawling due to signal failure on the line, I already miss the clean and comfortable Chinese trains I was taking from place to place.

That said I do get to work 945 here for more money so I am grateful for this for sure. :)

I don't think this falls under definition of genocide

> we suggest that infanticide is a sexually selected behaviour in killer whales that could provide subsequent mating opportunities for the infanticidal male and thereby provide inclusive fitness benefits for his mother.

I can see gene fitness benefit but mating opportunities, how?

"hey, me and maman uh killed your baby, wanna pump out a replacement real quick?"

With 1 in 30 chance of death can somebody help me understand why this had to be a manned mission?

It was essentially a dress rehearsal for next year's mission, which will result in an actual moonwalk. And then in 2028 we will go back for a second moonwalk and foundation delivery to start building an actual moon base. Artemis is a really cool and systematic set of missions that ultimately will result in a permanent human presence on the moon.

You wouldn't have this if your plug was properly grounded. Most developed countries have plugs that have grounding. EU via side pins UK via third prong

Apple avoids shipping grounded plugs as if it was personal affront to Ive. Also caused many many times for me to be shocked with electrostatic build-up.

all my EU/UK macbook plugs I got from apple are always grounded, metal prong and metal side pins

so what I mean is maybe house electricity grid is not grounded.

> all my EU/UK macbook plugs I got from apple are always grounded, metal prong and metal side pins

The short version, where you remove the extension with the 3-prong plug and attach the plug directly to the charger brick, is only available in 2-prong in the EU/US (the UK thankfully still gets all 3 prongs in this configuration)

yes true the short one has no grounding.

Anyway as I replied to the other guy (and got downvoted for it) if the plug was grounded there would be no issue. Apple chargers have ground pins.

But sure it's bad if they stopped including grounded versions by default in EU...

I really wish some 3rd party would build a 3-prong plug adapter for the EU

UK plugs are always grounded because there is no ungrounded version.

But elsewhere you only get grounded plug if you buy extra extension cord for the apple power brick, otherwise it's only ungrounded.

My experiences are all from third-prong countries.

To add to this, I notice this more frequently in the UK and EU countries than in some other parts of the world (although it varies within each country quite a bit).

> didn't have phones ... were fine in the end

Or depressed and suicidal because of being socially excluded in formative years. Let's roll the dice, what's the worst that can happen, more mentally sick adults? Clearly if we look around this is not backfiring in any way.
