Backend development, DevOps and Infrastructure, Startups | Singapore | Ruiwen | ruiwen+hnmentoring at thoughtmonkeys dot com

Spent the nearly the last decade building startups (mostly backend/infra work, but some front-end as well).

Happy to share about startup life in general, or chat about tech issues for smaller teams.

Backend/Infrastructure Dev | Lomotif | Singapore | ONSITE | Full-time

We're building a creator-focused app that allows users to very quickly stitch together music videos. Available on both iOS and Android. We're very excited to be in the online video space, and we'd like to explore the ways memories are captured and shared =)

We're a small team of 7 (4 engineers), and are looking for a backend/infrastructure dev to help sure we have a stable base on which to grow our product.

Our backend stack currently includes Python (Django) for services, Postgres, Elasticsearch and Redis for DBs and caching, Jenkins for CI, Docker and Kubernetes for infrastructure.

This job involves writing code, managing services, maintaining servers, wrangling databases and datasets, developing internal toolchains and much much more. We deal with video and audio quite a bit, so if you have experience in handling and delivering that sort of data, that's a plus!

We're based in Blk 71 (71 Ayer Rajah Crescent), so come visit if you're in the area!

Otherwise, feel free to drop me an email at <my-hn-username> [at] lomotif [dot] com!

There's also HackerspaceSG that we could use as a space if we needed =)

I found it quite a hassle to snap a screenshot, export it to my computer and then load it in Photoshop just to measure it though.

Found myself wondering if there was an easier way to do that, so built this mainly to scratch my own itch.

Oh, and the Simulator doesn't work with 3rd party apps from the AppStore either no?

And here's another handy link from the Singaporean hacker/startup scene: http://connections.sg/

All you need to know on one handy page =)

(I'm with HackerspaceSG too, so do ping me if anyone would like to pop by for a visit =)

Great to hear there'll be a hackerspace in Beijing soon!

Ours in Singapore is at http://hackerspace.sg =)

Hope to be able to visit some time!
