I’d question the effectiveness: I stood opposite a young guy who just clean fainted on one of the hottest days. He fell like an axed tree-trunk in the heat.

After a few minutes he was fine again, but he’d slid on the floor straight into my bag from the alcohol store and broken my wine-bottle at around 4pm on a Saturday. Anyone who knows Sweden will understand who came out of the experience worse.

Given it was hot enough to faint someone at 4pm, wine would be waste already being in such temperature for more than an hour (systembolaget closes at 3pm)?

Probably not... but just a consolation...

People living in Spain and France just throw away their wine if they haven’t consumed it one hour after purchase?

I hope not. It was a semi-humorous take on someone worrying about a bottle of wine while another human fainted due to excessive heat.

I have no idea how long wine would be good in 30C+, I guess it would survive 1 hour.

I felt compelled to reply here, so this answer doesn't start a myth about Spaniards or French.

systembolaget closes at 3pm????

On Saturdays, Yes.

Looks like skift is a hobby os like Serenity OS which Ladybird is spun out from. Maybe they intend to follow the same path?

I intend to keep Skift and Vaev together for as long as possible since everything is meant to be cross-platform. I don’t see any architectural conflict that would motivate such a change.

What's up with the cookie banner not having a deny option

My first thought: "Which cookie banner?". I was sure uBlock Origin has removed it for me. Then I went back and I realized it's not the case - I just became cookie-banner blind.

Amazing! Just needs an expert mode with 0-255 and alpha channel

Real expert mode is guessing CIE 1931 XYZ values in a windowless room with a carefully calibrated display and ambient lighting.

You also might need calibrated eyes. (My left and right eyes don't see the same colors.)

How does this compare to Nextcloud photos? Looking forward to running this at home in the future :)

Perhaps "google crime" if don't be evil is "google law"

Related to the recent post on here about live train maps, here is a project for Sweden!

Stoked to see Tkey back on the front page! Bought one when it launched and it's been great fun tinkering with my own apps using their Go library, and the community seems pretty active.

Also hardware wise the new injection molded case is a huge step up!

I'm really hoping for fully fledged FIDO2 support soon, perhaps on android aswell?

Thank you for your support! I'm pleased to hear you've been tinkering with it. We're working on FIDO2 and will get there one way or another. The current TKey uses CDC ACM as USB device class, which presents some compatibility challenges. I suspect we'll have to change that to USB HID FIDO2, possibly with additional endpoints to simultaneously support loading of applications from the host. We'll get there. :)

Interest has been low among my friends as most seem happy with Mastodon, so here are some codes!
