I also went this route once I concluded that I enjoy the process of taking photos (getting the 'composition right') rather than editing. I've never heard of Camp Snap until now, looks interesting!

Wanted to edit camera profiles on Linux, couldn't get the official app to run in Wine, so I built my own https://filmkit.eggrice.soy

I also personally find the original app infuriating to use, takes a lot of click & wait to modify a profile.

This is really cool! I see you’ve got screenshot of it running on Android, could this ever also work on iOS? I tried in iOS on Chrome, but I just see “WebUSB not supported. Use Chrome, Edge, or Brave.”.

Apple doesn't allow any other browser engine than Webkit. So essentially all browsers on iOS are reskinned Safari.

You will have to wait until the WebUSB support lands in Safari.

Other browser engines are allowed in EU now.

I am not sure what are you trying to say with this comment. AFAIK there is not a single browser on iOS that is not webkit. Even in EU all browsers are reskinned safari.

Also even if somebody build browser engine for alt store then the support of WebUSB (which for sure needs support from OS) would require Apple involvement.

What a great project. Amazing work, thank you for shipping this.

This is a good approach to take when assisted with building knowledge base (with your choice of retrieval system, ex. LLMs). 'Train' your brain like the article suggests, defer mental load to another system.

Easy mid-way product realization from research they had to do for folding phones.

Yeah makes sense to do so when the R&D is practically already paid for.

Expected in-depth discussions about the topic, but got pseudo-science medical advice instead. I guess HN _is_ a 'social media' after all.

This site is populated by mid-level code monkeys and “founders” of junk B2B startups. So, two groups that have an inflated sense of their own intelligence and believe everything that leaves their lips (or tips of their fingers) is on level of God’s word.

We need to realize how much Google is ahead in this game and start acting upon it.

I'm not sure if this is the opposite of what you intend, but I act on it by choosing their VertexAI over ChatGPT because Google Cloud is way ahead in reliability and performance.

Sorry for being off topic, but I really find the fluorescent green border obnoxious. Even if I scroll down, it remains at the top and bottom, which I find distracting.
