Is saying "indefinitely" or "until further notice" any worse than "10 days?" The specificity of the timeline was what caught my eye.

Indefinitely infers permanence. You’ll scare everyone off with that language.

What are the prediction markets putting on a 6-3 SCOTUS ruling that the First Amendment only protects the freedom of speech, not the freedom of reach.

Ring's marketing is almost comically wholesome, but what's to stop someone like an abusive ex or stranger trolling my Instagram page from uploading a photo of my dog and tracking our daily walk patterns?

Real reason to remove the facts and archive of the records is so that they're not cited in deportation litigation and government lawyers don't have to argue against the facts the government holds true

source or evidence of this?

It's broadly reported that lawyers often depend on it in asylum cases as "a trusted, objective source for country conditions."

If you want an official government source to outright say "it was inconveniencing our mass deportation efforts," I don't know what to tell you.

I think they're implying Microsoft is having a Kodak moment

That's a good point. F1 has previously produced 360º after-the-event videos to "relive the moment" for fanatics that would make sense here.

For live perspectives I wonder if 5G UW provides enough bandwidth for a handful of popular drivers, or if acceptable upscaling would be possible in live events if bandwidth is restricted.

I counted 49 pickup trucks with empty beds in the parking garage downtown this morning.

Wouldn't there be a selection bias, as trucks in parking garages are much less likely to be doing hauling /towing tasks?

Half of them sticking out into the roadway blocking half the lane. What an entitlement.

I counted 50 sedans with empty seats in the parking garage downtown this morning.

So? You saw them for one subset of what they are doing. Perhaps the most common one, but still just a subset.

But a lot of people buy trucks so they can tow and carry stuff when they need to, not because they're doing it all the time.

Downvote all you want, the sales numbers speak for themselves.

Point being the majority of pickup trucks you see day-to-day are fashion statements.

I agree they are not work trucks, not meant for work tasks.

The same reason federal agents wear GoPros. Security theater, and to send the message that journalists should not pursue stories like this that put the federal government in a less-than-favorable light.

> there is a very strong anthropological connection wired into us that doesn't go away when the situation changes.

I have not found this to be true.
