I spent some time getting Gemma4-e4b working via llamacpp on iPhone and I'm really impressed so far! I posted a short video of an example application on LinkedIn here https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7446746... (or x: https://x.com/danielrmay/status/2040971117419192553)

This was a powerful read and a useful lens to apply to the legibility of the technology era we're in.

Solid analysis, these quotes were particularly damning imo:

"You don’t accidentally forget to disclose that your memory is split into two non-unified pools. That’s a deliberate omission of the single most important architectural limitation of the device."

"Read that filename. layer_27_36. That’s not dynamic hot neuron routing, that’s static layer assignment"

My all-time favorite. Compaq had a compelling story, and I liked where the writers went after the first season.

The original title isn't appropriate or descriptive for this context.

i was 12 sorry lol

Its “hacker news” not “I was a rule abiding teenager news”

this is how i got my start in programming, eventually leading to working in finance and now in gamedev for a AAA. many of the programmers i worked with as a teenager to build neopets automations are in similar places. i have so many stories and even met my ex wife of ten years through the community!

oh and i regret all the duping glitches i found and exposed and stuff im sorry

That's the business model.

What do you use now?

I started using Private Internet Access after they got booted out of Russia due to their 0 logs policy.

Just to make a pedantic point, SSNs do not indicate US citizenship or nationality. Permanent residents (green card holders) and those on temporary work visas receive SSNs.
