This proves my paranoia that you should print and rescan redactions. That or do screenshots of the pdf redacted and convert back to a pdf

this would not have helped here

How would that help in this case?

People forget that “multi touch” and “capacitive touchscreens” were not Apple inventions. They existed prior to the iPhone. The iPhone was just the first “it just works” adaptation of it

Not a great example as multitouch in its modern incarnation was a niche academic technology, the most refined version of which was built by a 2 person startup that Apple quickly acquired. There was still a long way to go to make the tech as ubiquitous as it is today and that was all heavy lifting done by Apple.

Well, the heavy lifting was supervised by the same people, but while receiving Apple paychecks :)

For many companies. They’d be better to pay $200/month and layoff 1% of the workforce to pay for it.

The issue is they often choose the wrong 1%.

Why you try and avoid re using the same session beyond the initial task or two

I’m finding Gemini and chatGPT web terminal to out perform Claude code. The context becomes too much for the LLM, and tries to make up for it by doing more file read ops.

Sounds like you might want to refactor the code if the individual files are too big and it can't find what it's looking for?

I’d wager probably not. It’s not like reliability is what will get them marketshare. And the fast pace of industry makes such foundational tech hard to fund

Amazon fresh in the Bay Area was equivalent to Safeway but for better price/quality

I just moved here, but WOW Safeway's prices are absolutely criminal. We'll shop anywhere else. It'd be hard to be worse than Safeway.

I haven't been to a Fresh here, but we had one in IL and it was just a normal grocery store but more confusing. There's a constant sense of "am I stealing?" And the whole "just walk out" thing doesn't work if you don't have a Prime membership, so it all felt a bit overwrought and pointless. Some of the prices were good, others were bad, others were stupid (produce by item count instead of weight). I'd rather just go to a normal grocery store.

Selling it at cost though isn’t. And the cost to make a good is often less than 50% retail

Standard grocery margins are usually lower, in the 30%-40% range, and are often much lower for promotional items. Rotating "loss leaders" to get people in the door are standard practice. IMHO that would make it hard to bring an antitrust action against a grocery chain, as pretty much every store engages in a limited amount of predatory pricing as a marketing technique.

50% is the standard retail markup, but it varies by industry.

I don’t need a Siri LLM. The current Siri is more than adequate for responding to texts and calling while driving. A lot of the “ai integrations” is marketing material for features nobody will actually use

i dont NEED it, but if Siri could actually do anything you could do on your phone it would be very nice.

This is great. Means my scripts in a golang repo can also be written in Golang vs bash/python. It can even import libs from my project.

Awesome!
