I think you are being silly.

What's moral or amoral is dependant on whatever he is feeling at the moment. I very much doubt he has defined it.

Obviously saying it is not obviously true is false if 0.999... == 1.0

Can something be true and not obvious?

Obviously not.

Which is the point in using the word obvious, obviously. Namely, using it to feel superior or to not provide a better argument.

When I use the word, the point is to call out the fact that I think it's obvious, so if others don't, they can explain why. Not to forestall any discussion.

Anyone who uses the word differently is doing it wrong.

Alternatively, learn not to accept death and start that life goal of making it something that is a sad, rare event instead of part of the human nature.

If it’s a protocol, there should be an option to just drop the incomming packets and go on with one’s life.

This. Now if any of those influencers could start a campaign to make a short signal socially acceptable for "drop communications".

I vote for making an X with your index fingers.

So:

30 guns fired / 10.10^6 people vs 1 000 police murders / 325.10^6 people.

3.10^-6 guns fired per capita vs 3.10^-6 murders per capita.

Couldn't find the Swedish police murders stats. I'd estimate on their police murders per capita to be 2 or 3 orders of magnitude less than the USA.

On the other hand Chicago had nearly 2 murders/day last year [0]. and 3/4 were from a gun, I certainly wouldn't wanna be the cop who has to walk those streets without one.

Alternative: The actual universe has so much computational power that having thinking beings inside a simulation is low cost.

If you are inside the simulation, you don't know the actual universe's rules. Thinking beings being more likely to be in the real universe is just the kind of thing a thinking being inside a simulation with limited computing power would say.

Just half-joking, of course.
