You can do this now.

1. on homescreen, tap "Select Outputs" 2. de-select all the prompts: tap "select all" in the lower right twice and none of the prompts will be selected 3. record a new voice note 4. in the output view, tap "Add Outputs"

LMK if this works for you.

Didn't realize I could unselect all, thank you so much!!

What can we do to make it better and more useful for you?

I'm Matt, Yousif is my co-founder and best friend.

I'm extremely excited about what we're building at OASIS. Both of us are will be here to answer any questions, comments, etc.

I am a single parent and I too have ADHD & found myself struggling with the same things, so I created a series of "morning routine" Alexa reminders for myself AND my son.

- wake up (dad + kid) - make breakfast (dad) - eat breakfast (kid) - get dressed (kid) - make lunch (dad) - get in car (both) <––plays "Here We Go Again" by OK Go

The results have been AMAZING!!! Voice reminders FTW.

Before this, I was constantly running late. Constantly yelling at him to hurry. Constantly forgetting to make him lunch. It affected his school day negatively. The principal would call me in to tell us about behavior issues.

After implementing this Alexa-based voice reminder system, I started getting my son to school on time everyday with everything he needed. Actually, we had time to spare, so I would park and walk him to class. His school behavior improved dramatically, as did our relationship. Mornings were SO MUCH EASIER because instead of me having to remember and remind him, Alexa was reminding BOTH of us!

I also created an evening routine that caused major improvements in the regularity of his bedtime & bath. Highly recommend both!

You should look into doing something similar.

I don't use too much voice apps much. Are you basically setting a reminder and at the time it just announces the reminder? In which case I can definitely see how that could help!

That's awesome you've found ways to cope as a single parent with ADHD, that must be a serious challenge.

CEO of an AI startup & former AWS employee here.

The cloud sucks for training AI models. It's just insanely overpriced in a way that no "Total Cost of Ownership" analysis is going make look good.

Every decent AI startup––including OpenAI––has made significant investments in on-premise GPU clusters for training models. You can buy consumer-grade NVIDIA hardware for a fraction of the price that AWS pays for data center-grade GPUs.

For us in particular, the payback on a $36k on-prem GPU cluster is about 3-4 months. Everything after that point saves us ~$10k / month. It's not even close.

When I was AWS, I tried to point this fact out to the leadership––to no avail. It simply seemed like a problem they didn't care about.

My only question is why isn't there a p2p virtualization layer that lets people with this on-prem GPU hardware rent out their spare capacity?

Are TPUs too application specific to replace GPUs? It seems cloud TPUs could be competitive with GPUs in terms of $ per number of target epochs, provided you can do data parallelism for your workloads.

Also, IBM offers bare metal pricing which is somewhat cheaper than virtualized instances attached to GPUs (and faster too).

I think GPU virtualization is not quite there yet because Nvidia does not give access to core GPU functionality needed for efficient virtualization - you're stuck with using their closed-source libraries and drivers.

No, the opposite. Every other investor wins because they can invest more $$$ and own a bigger % of the company. Before, YC had a right to maintain its 7% stake, leaving less room for new investors to acquire ownership.

if YC doesn't invest, won't that be a signal that they don't believe the 7% is worth it?

it makes it hard for startups that would need more money to prove their profitability to lose out on new rounds, or have to give up more for those rounds (as investors will need better incentive to invest without the YC signal).

Is YC cutting prices? Is the new YC deal $150k for 4%?

The article suggests that YC is reducing its stake to 4%, however the quotes presented don’t seem to be really saying that.

I’m not sure if this story is a technical announcement about how they handle pro rata, or an updated version of the YC Deal for newly admitted startups?

No, this is a smaller and more technical change. YC's standard deal ($150K for 7%) isn't changing. This is about how we handle pro rata investments.

Present | Ethical Deepfakes | Remote | Principal Engineer (AI)

Our app lets people show their best selves in video chat and even create videos as friends & celebrities (with permission). We are unlocking video chat for the next billion by using AI to synthesize video on the local device without sending any pixels over the internet (patent-pending), resulting in a 100x reduction in bandwidth & cost versus traditional video streaming.

We are hiring 2 Principal Engineers to help us build a general image synthesis model for realtime video reconstruction of any human face, using deep learning.

Open to candidates located within a 1 hour flight from the Bay Area (Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego). In lieu of an office, we host monthly “onsites” both the Bay Area and at ”destinations” like Lake Tahoe & Laguna Beach.

Responsibilities: Build upon & implement published AI research, synthesize into new original work | Create neural networks that run on a smartphone | Explain your fancy math to business people | Write code that doesn’t suck

Requirements: Build a neural network from scratch to solve complex image synthesis problems & implement in code | Hungry to quickly learn new technical concepts | Eager to ship product, not satisfied with just conducting research | Portfolio of code that doesn’t suck | Do-whatever-it-takes attitude

Nice to Haves: Published research in computer vision or computer graphics | Computer science PhD from world-class university | Tried to start a company before or worked as an early employee at a startup

Serial entrepreneur founders. Raised $2.7M from Founders Fund, Naval, Cyan Banister & others.
