Robot on a stick doesn't do alot. I speak from experience using a telepresence robot at work to interact with my boss. It's basically a walking tablet that can't really navigate because it's wrapped in a consumer toy grade vehicle system to meet price point. Just pay an intern to hold a phone up and walk around. I agree that telepresence is the future of remote work, and by work I mean physically moving atoms around not just using social media to exchange information. The trick is creating reliable and efficient robotic systems that are actually suitable to the types of work needed. Thats not so easy and why I work in robotics. Lots of problems to solve.

The boss bot should be a drone so that it can hover.

Let's be real. It wouldn't be that surprising given how the world actually works. Assuming you aren't an oligarch.

Surprisingly progressive. This is because they don't have debtors prison?

Hey just a reminder the state is here to control you and protect property nothing more nothing less.

Lets just say "problem solvers" and avoid the semantics. Problem solving is abstract reasoning. It requires flow state.

I don't think anyone is being paid for creating problems outside of academia.

Yeah. Feminism. Thrasher's bro boarding King of Road machismo is going to get old really fast. The moment someone starts a feminism skate mag I'll be all about it.

Is skateboarding going to be another one of those scenes created and, curiously, popularized by low status males that will have its history rewritten to have always been the province of powerful elitist misogynists keen on wielding power to unfairly keep out the teeming throngs of talented girls and women?

>The moment someone starts a feminism skate mag I'll be all about it.

No you won't.

I'm really excited about Godot. I started using it and saw the limits of the 3d stuff that is there right now but I'm excited to start using it when really good 3d animation libraries become available which seem to be lacking at the moment.

I agree, the Clathrate Gun is firing right now. So we're probably going on the Big Temperature Roller Coaster Ride anyway. So in that sense carbon neutral is probably okay in the long run if we all survive right?

I agree. This is clearly how science should be done for the benefit of humanity. Closed access journals are the "property is theft" of scholarship. Being able to read papers and engage directly with the material is how innovation will happen. If not SciHub then someone else. It was and is just too important of a service not to be the new status quou.

Do you think we asked the colleges to turn us into profit centers? College costs have gone up because bureuacracy has bloated. By the times undergrads figure it out it's too late. If you actually went to school to study and ended up in insane amounts of debt (like I did) you wish you hadn't gone even though you were happy to have learned what you did. It's a shitty double edged sword.

Not everyone can get scholarships and school isn't easy/cheap enough to make paying for it an option by working through school. Not if you want a real job after school.

Frankly it should be free. Why are you charging people to better themselves and their surroundings. It's obscene that we charge people for healthcare and schools.

The United States is a corporate neocon fantasy world. Low taxes for the rich, student loans for all.

neoliberal, not neocon.

neocon is global war in support of US oligarchical economic interests.

neoliberal is global free markets in support of global oligarchical economic interests
